Dear Customers,
We have received reports of phishing attempts targeting some of our users. To protect your personal information and the security of your account, we provide some useful guidelines on how to recognize and handle these threats.
What is Phishing?
Phishing is a cyber scam where attackers try to obtain sensitive information (such as login credentials and financial data) by pretending to be trustworthy entities through emails, messages, or fake websites.
How to Recognize a Phishing Email
Be aware of the following signs:
- Suspicious Email Address: Senders with unusual email addresses or those that are similar to legitimate ones but slightly altered.
- Urgent Messages: Requests for immediate action, such as changing your password or confirming personal information.
- Requests for Sensitive Data: Emails asking for personal or financial information.
- Suspicious Links and Attachments: Links to unofficial websites or potentially dangerous attachments.
IMPORTANT: Always check the address bar of your browser to ensure that the URL for accessing the turboSMTP dashboard is https://dashboard.serversmtp.com/. Any other URL is phishing.
What to Do If You Receive a Suspicious Email
If you receive a suspicious email:
- Do Not Respond: Do not provide personal information.
- Do Not Click on Links: Avoid clicking on links or opening attachments.
- Mark email as ‘Spam’ in your email inbox and then clear your Spam folder.
- Report the Issue: Contact our customer support service.
