# Configure a Custom Tracking Domain

> Use your own domain for tracked links and open-tracking images. Configure DNS records and domain rotation in the turboSMTP dashboard.

A custom tracking domain puts tracked links and open-tracking images under a domain you control. It helps recipients recognize your links, but does not guarantee inbox placement or higher engagement.

## Availability

| Plan | Custom tracking domains |
| - | - |
| Free | 30-day demo |
| Basic | 2 |
| Pro | Unlimited |
| Enterprise | Unlimited |

Check [current pricing](https://serversmtp.com/pricing/) and your account's enabled features before setup.

## Configure your domain

Choose a subdomain such as `link.example.com` whose DNS you can manage.

**1. Open tracking settings**

In the [dashboard](https://dashboard.serversmtp.com), open **Settings → Tracking**. Enable open or click tracking.

**2. Add the domain**

Enable **Custom Tracking Domains**, click **Edit**, then **Add tracking domain**. Enter your domain; **Advanced options** lets you customize the generated subdomain.

**3. Configure DNS**

Save the domain and copy both CNAME records into your DNS provider. Use the exact names and targets shown. The second record is shared by subdomains of the same root domain and only needs adding once.

**4. Verify**

Allow DNS changes to propagate, then click **Verify** and **OK**. A green checkmark means verified. For a pending domain, check both records and retry after propagation.

## Choose a rotation mode

Below the domain list, select **Change this behavior**:

* **Do not match sender domain**, the default, uses an active tracking domain regardless of sender.
* **Match sender domain** prefers the matching domain and otherwise uses an active non-dedicated domain. Mark a domain **Dedicated** to reserve it for the matching sender domain.

Enable or disable individual domains with their **Status** switches. turboSMTP monitors configured tracking domains for blacklist listings and contacts you when action is needed. See the [official setup guide](https://serversmtp.com/custom-tracking-domain-what-it-is-and-why-you-should-use-it/) for more details.
